Despite the hectic pace of her career, she remains grounded, staying true to her New Zealand roots and keeping a healthy balance in both her personal and professional life.
Her career is not limited to just modeling—she is also an actress and has set her sights on continuing to grow in that field. When she’s not in front of the camera, Anna-Lisa loves long hikes, exploring vintage stores, and connecting with her fans through her social media platforms, where she shares insights into her lifestyle, wellness tips, and global adventures.
1. When and how did you decide to become a model?
I was scouted in my hometown of Wellington, New Zealand, while working at a retail store when I was 16. I was very excited by the idea and had always looked up to famous models on the catwalks and in magazines. My first international contract was in Singapore at 19, where I lived for 3 months. It was a unique experience that taught me I could be independent from a young age.
2. What is your dream – personal and professional?
My dream was always to come to America to model and act. Now that I’m here, I hope to continue pursuing these passions while using my social media to inspire others, travel the world, and experience different cultures. One day, I would love to write a book about my journey to the USA to chase my dreams and my solo travels across the globe.
3. Three things you can’t go a day without:
Morning coffee, my friends, and comfy PJs in the evenings.
4. Which top brands are you associated with?
I actually love vintage stores, especially those on Melrose Avenue here in Los Angeles. For designer brands, my favorites are Chanel and Dior. I’m drawn to Chanel’s classic style and Dior’s feminine branding.
5. What’s your secret to staying in great shape and maintaining a healthy lifestyle?
I believe it’s all about balance. I don’t personally count calories; I just try to maintain a healthy balance by eating clean foods. I aim for an 80/20 balance, where 80% of the time I’m eating healthily, and 20% of the time I treat myself, usually on the weekends. Life’s too short not to enjoy a good pizza sometimes. For fitness, I balance weight training, Pilates, and yoga, but the biggest difference I’ve found is long walks and hiking to stay slim and in shape.
6. You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your haircare and skincare routine.
Thank you! For hair care, I started a regimen about 2 years ago that really helped my hair grow, which can be challenging as a blonde. I use an argan oil hair mask each time I wash my hair before applying conditioner; this leaves my hair super soft. Then, I use K18 on damp hair to repair damage. 1-2 times a week, I oil my hair with a mix of castor oil and rosemary oil, which I leave on for a few hours before washing out. I also oil my ends after styling to prevent damage; for this, I use Kérastase oil. For skincare, I keep it simple: I use Elemis sunscreen moisturizer daily, Laneige lip balm, Origins Ginzing eye cream (which is amazing for brightening under the eyes), and in the evenings, I apply Lancôme Multi-Action Night Cream. In my opinion, the biggest tip for youthful skin is to use sunscreen.
7. Do you have any hidden talents? If so, what is it?
I actually love skateboarding. I’ve been skating for a few years, and there’s nothing better than skating around the beach in California with some friends.
8. How do you relax when you are not working? Any special food, movie, or book?
I love relaxing in a nice bath. Lush bath bombs are a major bonus; they really make any day 10 times better. My favorite comfort food is definitely nachos, and my favorite movies are any classics with Adam Sandler. My favorite book is The Four Agreements.
9. What do you like best about traveling as a model?
I love traveling; it’s always my favorite thing to do. Nothing compares to visiting a place I’ve never been before. Any chance I get to go somewhere unique excites me. There’s just something about landing in a new place that makes me want to explore and see something new. I also love making friends around the world; there’s really nothing more special to me.
10. Your next goal is…
My next goal is definitely to visit my 40th country; it’s a significant milestone for me. I’ve been so busy that I haven’t traveled somewhere new in about a year. I’m hoping to go somewhere super unique soon—possibly Brazil or Africa, but we’ll see. Career-wise, I would love to explore acting more and hopefully star in some films this year and next.
