With the Queen of Pop in the front row, Dolce & Gabbana blend Old Hollywood allure with Madonna’s iconic ’80s style for a show that celebrates “Italian Beauty.”
Dolce & Gabbana’s latest collection, “Italian Beauty,” dazzled the Milan Fashion Week crowd with a show that masterfully paid homage to Madonna’s legendary style while channeling the golden age of Hollywood glamour. Models descended a grand staircase—a nod to the dramatic entrances of cinema heroines from yesteryear—while sporting blonde, Marilyn Monroe-inspired hairdos with a twist of Madonna’s ’80s aesthetic. Fittingly, the Material Girl herself sat front row, donning a black lace veil that obscured her face but not her enduring presence.
Vittoria Ceretti opened the show in a cone-bra bustier dress, instantly recalling one of Madonna’s signature looks from the ’80s. This was the dominant silhouette of the show, echoing the pop icon’s rebellious femininity and bold fashion statements. Corset tops paired with pinstriped suiting and trailing suspenders gave the collection a strong, structured feel, while cropped jackets with microshorts added a modern, playful edge.
The designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, also embraced classic Italian style with intricate cross earrings and towering heels. The collection played with transparency through sheer mesh pieces and an ethereal see-through trench coat, while fringed, beaded flapper dresses and sinuous floral gowns added a touch of vintage opulence. Each piece was a stunning mix of Old Hollywood sophistication and sultry Italian glamour, perfectly embodying the “Italian Beauty” theme.
With Madonna in attendance and her influence threaded throughout the designs, Dolce & Gabbana delivered a nostalgic yet fresh celebration of femininity and fashion’s power to transcend time.
