1. When was the first time you were in Cannes? What is the best you can remember? “The first time I was in Cannes was about eight years ago. I was struck by the festival’s vibrant energy and its compact grandeur. One of my fondest memories is meeting Will Smith; we were part of the same circle during the event and have crossed paths at other festivals since. He’s an amazing character with a beautiful spirit. Another vivid memory is accidentally falling into the ocean in a very expensive dress!”

2. What was the best movie you saw these days at the Cannes festival, and what were you wearing? “The Saudi movie ‘NORAH’ left a deep impression on me. It’s groundbreaking for a Saudi film to be in competition here. As for my outfit, fashion here is as much a statement as the films.”

3. You are a fashion icon. What does fashion mean to you? “Fashion is a powerful tool of self-expression for me. It allows me to showcase my individuality and authenticity, making me feel unique and confident. Professionally, I strive to convey the essence and message of the fashion I present, ensuring it resonates with the audience and makes me feel at home in my skin.”

4. With which criteria do you choose to play in a movie? “I start with the script to get a feel for the project. The role must be exciting, and the plot compelling. I look for a message I can identify with, and the filmmaking team must be highly professional and share a strong vision.”

5. Tell us more about your new series, ‘Ru’. “‘RU’ follows a 38-year-old woman navigating love with an 18-year-old. Premiering on May 22 in Istanbul, and airing on the streamer GAIN on May 24, it explores age differences, gender roles, and societal pressures. It’s about young adults, family dynamics, and the complexities of love and self-discovery. We’re excited about the international discussions for ‘RU’.”

6. The show tackles age differences in relationships. What is your real opinion about that? “The success of a relationship hinges more on shared values, beliefs, and goals rather than age. Support for personal and mutual growth is crucial. While age differences can introduce challenges, they’re not insurmountable if there’s true companionship.”

7. What is love for you? “Love is a profound commitment and a gift that involves deep affection, respect, and consideration for one another’s well-being and aspirations. It’s about kindness, appreciation, and support, even during disagreements.”

8. Can you relate to your character in ‘Ru’? “I find a strong connection in our dedication to our professions and the love for what we do. This passion is what resonates most with me.”

9. How do you describe yourself as a woman? “I see myself as an independent, strong, and compassionate woman. I’m mindful of my actions and expect empathy in return. I’m grateful for my family, my health, and my achievements, and I face the future with confidence under divine blessing.”

10. How challenging is it to balance motherhood and your career? “Balancing motherhood with a career requires resilience and responsibility. My priority is providing love, stability, and support for my children’s individual development.”

11. Do you live by any rules in your life? “I adhere to principles of authenticity and reliability, both personally and professionally. Sometimes, my roles challenge my beliefs, but I navigate these for the success of the project, provided they pose no threat to my integrity or to others.”

12. Have you ever felt lost and found yourself again? “Life’s challenges sometimes divert us from our paths. Realigning with our core intentions and values is a profound journey of self-discovery and happiness.”
